Zoey Malmstedt is a choreographer and dance instructor who is well-versed in many styles of dance including tap, lyrical, ballet, jazz, and hip hop. She grew up in competitive dance at studios in the Twin Cities, dancing on teams as well as assisting and teaching, until she graduated in 2021. For high school, she attended Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists for four years, where she grew her knowledge in modern, classical, and global techniques of concert dance. In 2023, she joined a group of dancers to create the Minnesota Ballet Collective, who she trained with for one year to spread her love for ballet and to make the ballet community more accessible to adult dancers who share the same passion.
Zoey currently attends the University of Minnesota Twin Cities as a Strategic Communications major with PR and advertising focuses, as well as minors in Dance, and Physical Activity and Health Promotion. She has also been teaching both recreational and competitive classes at another dance studio since 2019. Outside of school and dance, she enjoys reading and spending time with friends and family in her free time. Zoey is excited to be teaching and looks forward to passing on her love for dance to her classes at MDC!
