Ellie Wood

Ellie was a competition dancer on Metro Dance Centers’ top competition lines for 12 years.  She has taken classes at world renowned studios in Los Angeles and New York.  She has both danced and assisted for well-known choreographer Michael Schwandt and has taken classes from Nikki Snelson, Mandy Moore, Kim McSwain and many other top teachers in the nation. She was a part of the University of St Thomas Dance Team where she won four national championship titles in the jazz and hip hop divisions. She is also a former head coach for the Mounds View Viewette danceline.    Ellie’s innovative choreography has won many top awards regionally and nationally . Ellie graduated from the University of St Thomas with a degree in Community Health Education and is planning to further her education with a master’s degree in Public Health.  Ellie is excited to see the talent Metro’s dancers have to offer this year and is excited to share her passion of dance with them.  When not dancing, you can find Ellie hanging with wife, Elsa, and two adorable little girls – Haley and Aria.
