Metro Boosters Fundraising Minimize

Fundraising for Dance-Related Expenses

The fundraising opportunities provided by the Metro Boosters Parents Organization can be used to pay for the following expenses:

    • dance tuition
    • dancewear (tights, leotards, costumes, shoes)
    • competition fees
    • dance-related travel expenses (gas, hotel room)

How Does it Work??

    • Fill out a membership application (see Participation for more details).
    • Participate in any fundraising activities sponsored by the boosters organization (current fundraising opportunities are described below).
    • Fill out a reimbursement form and attach receipts for your dance-related expenses.  The organization treasurer writes a check for you (up to the value of your individual fundraising account).

Money that you earn through these fundraising activities is tracked by individual participant.  What that means is, money you raise through the fundraising activities does NOT go in the general fund - it is yours to use to pay for your dance-related expenses.

Participation

To participate in any fundraising or team building events, you need to complete a membership application and return a fee of $15 per dancer in your family (maximum of $35 per family). These fees are used to support:

  • team-building events (competition students)
  • community service projects
  • competition kick-off parties
  • general set-up costs for tracking each participant's fundraising profits

Participation is open to any persons 16 years or older from recreational class or competition dance. This is a great way to meet other parents or members of the dance community.

Metrodome/Target Field

An fun opportunity to work concessions at the Minneapolis Metrodome during Minnesota Vikings games and earn $60 to $100 per game. This is an excellent way to raise funds towards dance expenses. Time commitment per game is approximately 6-7 hours. Car pooling is available from the Shoreview Mall parking lot. If you are interested in working dome events, contact Cherie Becchetti, Dome Coordinator.

Right now, we are looking for people who are interested in working anywhere from 1-15 Twins games at the NEW Twins stadium in 2010.  Contact Cherie Becchetti for information on required training and scheduling information.

Please note: if you are confirmed by the coordinator to work at one of these events, and find that you unable to do so, please find a substitute from the list provided in your event confirmation email.

Wreath Sales

The 2009 Wreath Sales are complete.  If you have suggestions for different holiday fundraising to try out next year, please contact Tim Becchetti (board president).

Spring Performance

Workers for the spring recitals by Metro Dance Center students will be needed to help sell food, balloons, and flowers. Sign up will begin in late April. Earn approximately $60 per show. Time commitment is 4 hours.

Other Opportunities

We are constantly trying to explore other fundraising opportunities that would be a have great earning potential. If you have any ideas that you have experienced in the past, bring and share those ideas to a Booster meeting, or send your suggestion to Tim Becchetti. We usually meet every other month and would welcome your thoughts.
